Will you miss me
Rituparna Ghosh , London

 Will you miss me?
When the sun filters through the gap in curtains,
Covering your dark world in golden hues.

Will you miss me?
When the familiar song assails your ear,
reminding you of those rain dances.

Will you miss me?
When the dried red rose falls from the book,
the petals wrinkly and old like me.

Will you miss me?
When walking out of the door,
you’d absentmindedly look for my shoulders.

Will you miss me?
When randomly searching an old mail,
will pop one of mine up

Will you miss me?
When tickled pink with something,
Your eyes would search to share.

Will you miss me?
When you hear the snorty laughter,
Replicated in the miniature version.

Or would I be gone,
replaced by the new shiny object
Shut-in a tiny fissure covered with the dust of life …
