Do Not Rob My Smile
What offense have I done
for the haven,
with stubble and pebbles
had I built my shack
beneath the open sky?
By pedantic bulldozer
you sabotaged my creation
Did you not weigh my rights
granted by gracious God?
Have I ever asked,
the gratis patronage
or sympathy
entwined with apathy?
If I only seek something:
the free air to inflate my lungs-
the clement sun to warm my heart-
the sodded glen to heal my weal.
So be known all accomplished witling;
'tis a sin to orphan a serene smile,
for it doesn't come easy on my face,
a divine blessing to the life of a hermitage!

Unwavering Faith
There’s hiding a polymorphic thing
Behind closet and window curtain
Abiding empathy or maybe a friend
Phantom or true can’t I comprehend.
Whistles and hisses there he is:
A speck grows into a giant thing
Tongue flicks out; is it my doom?
I run so fast, no time to brood
My unwavering faith holds me tight
Ah! He’s gone, he’s gone outright.
It falls like a thick dark blanket
Almost put off my beaming candles
It’s coming nigh, I suffocate
It would envelop me, I run fast
My dear faith, please hold me tight
Ah! He’s gone, he’s gone outright.
