Ljubica Katic was born in 1957 in Niksic, Montenegro, where she lived and worked until 2008, when she came to Split and stayed there. From early childhood he wrote the first children's songs, which were published in children’s magazines, later love, social, spiritual, and haiku poetry. She has been awarded several times, in her own country as well as abroad. Her poems have been translated into English, Spanish, Italian, Arabic, Romani, Bengali, French and Hindi.
She is represented in many international joint anthologies around the world. Of all the awards, only some that stand out to her stand out, and these are:

She has published two independent collections of love poetry, a bilingual Croatian-English edition.
Her third collection is in preparation, which should see the light of day by the end of 2021. Also, her first collection of children's poetry is in preparation.

Tonight I miss you like never before,
I miss laying my head upon your chest.
Tonight I miss you making me smile,
I miss your cold hands making me warm.
I miss you wiping the tears from my eyes,
So their salt leaves no mark.
I also miss those morning a long time ago
When we were getting ready for vacation.
I miss you like dried flowers miss the water,
Taking one last breath,
Even they sometimes flourish
When watered with lots of love.
