I AM AFRAID

Memou Voula

 ( Greece)

I put your shoes on inside out

to accumulate the blood of your wounds alive

A christened lovechildin your scattering

As Fates lied in the sun-shining canyon filled with moths

Now,

The guillotine stands next to your cradle

The moon sobs like aninjured animal

asit takes its course to persecution

Not standing to face reputations

which are barely fitting in a matchbox

My sorrow is now decorated into the trenches

As it rides naked

upon bled lips and pupils of glass

I am afraid of the nights that sharpen the blades

I am afraid of the shining of a stolen resurrection

I am afraid of the dreams that enchain nightmares

I am afraid that the dissectors of consciousness

will never extractthe accurate conclusions

Refugee of my own body

Impaled by your side,

bycrosses made from kites of death

My loose jacket

Escaped the piano bars in isolation

Hope lies bleeding at the shattered balcony

When the sirens are finally silent

The Sun will never find children playing hide and seek

The Poet using his soldier letters

Was bent in the words

That are hatching hopes chemise

And me,

With my loose jacket in rags

I will lie on your shoulders to mate our persecuted dreams

Hurry up Peace

Hope and brotherhood are awaiting

So you can sail together

I am afraid

I am afraid the man with iron hands.

I am afraid the man with fire in his eyes.

I am afraid the bleeding heart.

The pigeons nest are empty.

I dont smell roses in an empty house.

Give me your hand

And walk in my road.
